Khyber Muslim FC were crowned champions when they defeated host Chanesar Blue FC 5-4 on penalty shoot out in the final of All Karachi Shohadai Chanesar Goth Football Tournament 2012 here at Chanesar Goth Football Ground in Jamshed Town, District East Karachi.
“It was a fine victory as both the teams played really well,” Khyber Muslim skipper Mohammad Farooq told this correspondent. “The victory is a morale-booster for us ahead of the Karachi Football League and I believe that we will take a nice start in the marathon starting next month,” the play maker said.
It was a gripping game watched by a huge crowd. Chanesar Blue on to the score sheet in the 11th minute through right winger Kamal Shah his long range drive about 20 meters distance no chance for goal keeper to save it. 5 minutes later Captain of Chanesar Blue Fareed Ahmed doubled the lead through long drive. 33rd minute Mohammad Iqbal reduced the margin by a header.
At half time Chanesar Blue were leading 2-1.
Organising Secretary Qayyum Lasi introduced with the Chief Guest Mr. Khalid Nawaz Khaskhali from the players of both the finalist. Vice Presidents of DFA East Mr. M. Rahim, Mr. Syed Usman Shah, Mr. Abdul Aziz, Secretary West Mr. Rahim Bakhsh, Secretary South Mr. Jan Mohammad, Vice President of DFA Central Mr. Mohammad Shamim, KUFF Admn & Media Manager Riaz Ahmed and others are present on the occasion.
After the breather, even tougher game was witnessed, but Khyber Muslim had an edge over their rivals in ball possession. Veteran striker of Khyber Muslim Mohammad Iqbal another fantastic goal from 25 meters distance no chance for goal keeper to grip the ball. The score are levelled 2-2 at the final whistle.
To make the match decisive five penalty kicks awarded to each side in which Khyber Muslim availed all opportunities but Chanesar Blue star striker Kamal Shah missed last penalty kick due to which Khaber Muslim won the final with 5-4. Referee Imam Bakhsh supervised the match while Abdul Rauf and Imran assisted him on the line.
Later on the Chief Guest distributed the Winner and Runner up Trophies to the respective teams and individuals prizes. In the end Chief Guest Mr. Sardar Nawaz Khaskhali appreciated Chanesar Blue for organising Successful tournament and make sure to support in future for the betterment of healthy activities.
