3 Tough Matches, 3 Penalty Kick Deciders in GSA D-Goal

On Monday August 6th, GSA D Goal tournament witnessed three nail biting affairs. No separating the teams and PKs decided it all.

1- Gunners FC 2 – 2 Elman FC

(Gunners win 2-1 on penalties)

Star Performer – Imran (Gunners FC) – The elegant midfielder and two time winner with Barca showed great composure.

The game was a very good affair with both sides displaying pure D goal skills. Ahmed of Elman FC was showing one good touch after another and soon struck the opener. This bought the Gunners to life as well and they responded as Sameer equalized. The first half ended at 1-1. Second half another good run from Ahmed resulted in a 2-1 lead but then Imran who was playing as last man moved forwarded and Gunners mounted one attack after another and tied the game. The game ended 2-2 as Elman FC held on. In the penalties both teams struggled and Gunners FC clinched the win.

2- Young Khans 2 – 2 Mario Bros.

(Mario Bros. win 2-0 on penalties)

Star Performer – Usman (Mario Bros.) – A solid outing for the young man with a goal and tough defensive work.

The game like the first one was end to end. Both teams showing plenty of attacking intent. Omaid scored a great individual effort to give Young Khans the lead and then he and Mukhtar controlled the game. Mukhtar showing some deft touches but a confusion in the defense allowed Irfan Junejo to slide a pass to Usman and he equalized at half time. The second half was frantic and Young Khans took the lead again through a penalty and this made the Pepsi Cup Winners to push one and equalize through Irfan Junejo at the death. The penalties were way ward from Young Khans giving a win to Mario Bros.

3- Santos 6 – 6 Shahbaz FC

(Shahbaz FC win 3-1 on penalties)

Star Performer – Abid (Shahbaz FC) – Believe it or not this veteran scored 6 goals.

The game that everyone was waiting for featured Hayat of Shahbaz FC leading his team against Ammar Shareef of FC Rovers. The game started with goals and ended with goals. Shahbaz led 1-0 before Rovers went on there own scoring spree as Umair and Ammar struck twice each to lead 5-3 at half time. Amazing game continued and Rovers led 6-4 as Ammar powered on but Abid scored an amazing goal of the restart and at the death it was tied. The game featured 3 penalties, two conversions and 12 amazing goals. Both teams made sure this was the game of the tournament. The momentum of the tying goal carried the Shahbaz FC team to win on penalties. Stunning.

Goal Challenge Winner – Ahmed (Elman FC) – The skilled player scored twice in the game and scored even at half time to win cash beating an opponent from Gunners FC to win some consolation.
