Al-Shabaz hold Korangi Baloch in KFL-SUPER LEAGUE

The 9th Karachi Football League 2011-12 Super League round saw Al-Shabaz (Korangi) hold home side Korangi Baloch (Sharafi) 1-1 yesterday, 4 April 2012.

The cagey affair saw both sides gain a point each at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi, Karachi. The previous encounter between the two sides saw Al-Shabaz beat Korangi Baloch 2-0 in Group B clash on 21 November 2011.

The opening exchanges were fast paced, as Al-Shabaz took the lead after 8 minutes when Shah Alam scored from a Abdul Rehman pass. Korangi Baloch responded but missed two glorious chances to score as Akhtar Baloch and Abdul Jabbar Jr. came close. Muhammad Rafique almost doubled the lead for Al-Shabaz but failed to score as his side led 1-0 at half time.

2nd half saw Korangi Baloch awarded a penalty in 56th minute for a foul on Jabbar Jr. but Abdul Wahid saw his spot-kick saved by Al-Shabaz goalkeeper Manzoor Alam. With time running out, Korangi Baloch finally found the equaliser in 87th minute when Aqeel Ahmed’s shot found the back of the net to make it 1-1. Referees were M Rizwan, Javed Bangash, Babar Khan, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.

The score finished same as both sides completed 4 games each of the KFL Super League round. Al-Shabaz lie on 5 points while Korangi Baloch are on 7 points. On 6 April 2012, Baloch Youth (Garden) face Burma Mohammadan (Korangi).

DFA West suspends 6 players
for 3 months

Gross misconduct with referees in various tournaments forced Karachi DFA West secretary Rahim Bakhsh Baloch to take strong action against 6 local players. Each player was slapped with a 3 month ban for their severe lack of discipline and zero respect towards officials.

Abdul Wahab (Usman Shaheed FC, Kemari) was banned till 2 June 2012 following his foul language towards referees Hafeez Ahmed and Fazal Hussain in the All-Karachi Minister Cup (Baldia Town). Frontier Mujahid FC (Baldia Town) also saw 3 of its own players – Islam Uddin, Rizwan, Haidar Zaman – banned till 2 June 2012 for misbehaving with referees Abdul Karim and Hafeez Ahmed in same tournament.

Adil Nawaz (Islah Baloch FC, Old Golimar) was also banned for 3 months for misbehaving with referee Zaheeruddin Babar in All-Karachi Anwar Ali Mullah Shaheed Tournament (Baldia Town).

The banning order has been sent to all DFA authorities across Karachi.
