The 9th UBL Omni Karachi United Football League 2011-12 Super League phase at Korangi Baloch Stadium in Sharafi (Karachi) saw defending champions Baloch Youth FC (Garden) open their Super League phase account with a commanding 2-0 win over home side Korangi Baloch FC yesterday 29 Feb 2012.

Baloch Youth started the game well with Talal Ayub coming close to scoring from a Aaqib Ayub pass in 26th minute. Muhammad Nauman then made it 1-0 for Baloch Youth in 33rd minute from another Aaqib Ayub pass as Korangi Baloch struggled in opening exchanges.

Korangi Baloch tried to equalise in 2nd half but their strikers Amjad Anjum, Abdul Jabbar Jr., and Abdul Hafeez failed to test Baloch Youth goalkeeper Bilal Ayub. Korangi Baloch almost equalised in 80th minute but Amjad Baloch hit the post, before Aqeel Ahmed again missed a chance for Korangi Baloch in 90th minute.

Baloch Youth made it 2-0 just seconds before final whistle when Sarmad Jaffar scored from a Abdul Salam pass (90+3′) to confirm their 3 points at the end. Referees were Javed Bangash, Shaukat Ali, Chaudhry Iqbal, and match commissioner was H.M.Hanif.

The 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League saw Azam Sports (Drigh Road) record their third Group B win with 2-1 victory over Mauripur Azad yesterday 29 Feb 2012 at Jam Stadium Malir (Karachi).

Azam Sports almost went 0-1 down after 14 minutes when defender Jehanzeb fouled M Ramzan fouled to concede a penalty. But Azam Sports goalkeeper Shahid Khan saved Kamran Khan’s spot-kick to keep the score 0-0. Azam Sports went 1-0 up just 4 minutes later when Wasim Ullah scored from a Salim Ullah pass.

Kamran Khan equalised for Mauripur Azad when he scored from a rebound following a corner kick by Amjad Ali in 31st minute. The scores were 1-1 at half time, though Mauripur Azad could have been 2-1 up only for the crossbar to deny Shahid Gaji from scoring.

In 2nd half, Mauripur Azad goalkeeper Abdul Hameed superbly stopped a powerful shot from Azam Sports’ Furqan Ullah in 52nd minute. Salim Ullah was then fouled in the box by Mauripur’s Shahid Gaji in 85th minute to concede a penalty, which Kamran Boota scored from to make it 2-1 for Azam Sports as the match finished. Referees were Abdul Latif, Ahmed Mian, Zakir Hussain, Arif Hameed, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.

Mauripur Azad’s Sajid Khumesa was awarded the Man of the Match award worth Rs 500 by former national football Shah Nawaz at the end of the game.
