The Engro Vopak Football League 2012 saw venue hosts Jam XI (Malir) confirm a place in the semi-finals with a penalty shoot-out win over Irfan Memorial (Landhi) yesterday, 24 March 2012.
Jam Stadium in Malir, Karachi witnessed a cagey encounter in 1st quarter-final of the Engro Vopak League between the hosts and Irfan Memorial. The match finished 0-0 at the end of normal time with both sides missing chances to score.
In the shoot-out, Jam XI had to thank goalkeeper Arshad Nabi for his heroic performance as he saved 2 Irfan Memorial penalties from M Afzal and Afzal Baloch. Jam XI’s scorers in shoot-out were Liaquat Ali, Arif Hameed, and Imdad Murad.
Jam goalie Arshad Nabi was given Rs 500 Man of the Match cash award by senior FIFA referee Muhammad Iqbal Jr. Referees were Saeed Khan, Imran Hussain, M Umar, 4th official Basit Baloch, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.

Baloch Youth (Garden) beat Islah Baloch (Old Golimar) 2-1 in first quarter-final, Usmanabad Union beat Baloch Union (DFA West) 4-2 in 2nd one, National Soccer seniors beat Golden Star (New Karachi) 4-1 in 3rd, while National Soccer juniors stunned the Iqra United senior team 3-0 in final quarter final.
Usmanabad Union face Baloch Youth while National Soccer seniors face juniors in the semi-finals.
