The 2012 All-Karachi Engro Vopak Football League at Jam Stadium in Malir (Karachi) saw the result of 2 Group A games yesterday, 12 Feb 2012. League hosts FC Rovers (Malir Cantt) beat Janbaz Sports (Sultanabad) 4-0, while venue hosts Baloch Mohammadan (Malir) beat fellow Malir side Dilbod Mohammadan 2-0.
FC Rovers completely overwhelmed Janbaz Sports from the start as star winger Irfan Junejo scored the first hat-trick of the league season in the game. Hamza Shahid opened the scoring after 10 minutes when he latched on to a pass from Irfan Junejo, giving Rovers a 1-0 lead. Then in 2nd half, Irfan Junejo scored thrice to confirm Rovers’ emphatic win. Irfan scored from a Taha bin Zahid in 69th minute, a penalty in 74th minute, and from a Ammar Sharif pass in 78th minute to complete the 4-0 rout. Irfan Junejo was awarded Rs 500 MOTM cash award from Sindh FA vice-president and DFA Malir president Fateh Muhammad Baloch.
Baloch Mohammadan did not give Dilbod Mohammadan any respite in their 2-0 win. Captain Karim Bakhsh opened the scored in 1st half injury time (45+2′) from a Roshan Aziz pass, before a howler from Dilbod goalie M Hashim gifted Baloch Mohammadan a 2-0 lead from a Ahmed Lal corner in 56th minute. FC Rovers captain Ammar Sharif awarded Rs 500 MOTM cash award to Baloch Mohammadan’s Amir Khan.
The results left both Baloch Mohammadan and FC Rovers on 3 points each after playing 1 and 2 games respectively. Janbaz Sports remain on 0 points after 3 games, wile Dilbod Mohammadan have 3 points from 3 games.
Referees were Anser Javed, Saeed Khan, Imran Hussain, M Ishaq, Arif Mehmood, and match commissioner Abdul Karim.
