KESC edge past PEL in PPL 2011

The 8th Pakistan Premier League 2011 continued with another result from Karachi yesterday 19 Sept 2011. At Peoples Stadium at Mauripur Road in Lyari Town, KESC edged past 10 man PEL 1-0 late in the game.

KESC star Abdul Rehman’s late goal in stoppage time (90+4) helped his side gain another precious win overly lowly PEL who lost Orangzeb Jr for a red card in 59th minute.

PEL managed to play a lot better than their 1-9 hammering by HBL  a few days back but they still lost as their relegation problems intensified.

In a one-sided encounter, PIA defeated Baloch FC 2-0 at the Pakistan Premier Football League while Muslim FC held KPT to a 2-2 draw.

After a goal-less first-half, PIA’s Shakir Lashari scored the opener in the 51st minute before Mohammad Rizwan doubled the lead six minutes later to put Baloch FC out of contention.

The win ensures PIA remain in second place of the league with 21 points from 10 matches.

In the other match of the day, Muslim FC took an early lead when Haji Mohammad scored in the sixth minute before Saeed Ahmed doubled the margin a minute later.

KPT went to the break staring at defeat before Zafar Majeed’s 59th-minute strike revived hopes before Idrees netted the equaliser in the third minute of injury time.

Despite the result, Muslim FC sit at the 10th position with 12 points.
