AID-27 teams maintain roll in National U19 Cup

The Karachi and Faisalabad AID-27 sides maintained their fine start to the 2011 National U19 Championship being held in Lahore and hosted by Model Town FC as Day 4 of the competition saw the results of 3 matches out 4 on 15 Sept 2011.

At Punjab Stadium, the Karachi AID-27 side beat the Bannu AID-27 side 1-0 thanks to Basit Ali’s 30th minute strike as they maintained their quest for next round place by confirming a Top-2 finish in Group D.

The other Group D match between Punjab FA trounced Gilgit-Baltistan FA 6-2 at the MTFC Ground.

In Group A, Faisalabad AID-27 continued their fine form under coach Muhammad Habib (WAPDA, ex-PMC Athletico) as they steam-rolled past the Rawalpindi-Islamabad AID-27 team by an astounding 5-0 victory at MTFC Ground. Goals from Muhammad Naveed (16′), Muhammad Bilal (62′) as well as a hat-trick by Ali Adil (39′, 71′, 82′) ensured another 5 goal victory for Faisalabad AID-27 after their 5-0 win over FATA FA 2 days back. The result means Faisalabad are through to next round.

In another Group A match, Balochistan FA beat FATA FA 2-1 at Faisal Town Football Ground. Fazal Mehmood opened the scoring for Balochistan in 52nd minute before Izhar Khan equalised 3 minutes later. However, Balochistan FA was not be denied the win after Fazal scored again 71st minute as they held on for a vital win the competition to almost guarantee their place in the next round alongside Faisalabad AID-27.
