[VIDEO] Fight between Pak Army players, Referee in Quetta in PPL 2011

The Pakistan Army vs Afghan FC Chaman match in the 2011 Pakistan Premier Football League held on 26 July 2011 at Sadiq Shaheed Stadium in Quetta was hampered by violence from Army players towards the match officials.

With Afghan FC leading 2-1 by 75th minute, the referee Rana Naseer blew whistle for a Afghan freekick in their own half, which Army striker Imran Hussain disputed. After prolonged arguing of the decision, Rana Naseer gave yellow card to Imran Hussain for dissent but Imran’s harsh language at that forced the ref to send him off on a red card.

This made all hell break loose as Imran attacked the referee for his decision, and was joined in by another Army player Shakeel Ahmed who also got physical with the referee as shown in this spectator footage from the match.

The players and officials of both sides were forced to intervene and break up the fight, following which Shakeel Ahmed was also sent off for striking the referee.

The match eventually ended 2-1 in favour of Afghan FC with Army playing the last 15 minutes with 9 men because of the dismissals.
