  27. I’ve been saying this from the beginning.. we need a foreign coach for a longer term & atleast 60% of the playing XI should consist of foreign-based pakistanis, inorder to succeed…
There is pleanty of foreign based Pakistani talent outside Pakistan..

  28. GK YOUSUF BUTT DF ZESH REHMAN – SHABIR KHAN – ADAM LUKE DOCKER(KARIM) – YACOOB BUTT MF ADNAN AHMED – ATIF BASHIR – IRFAN KHAN – AMJAD IQBAL FW HASSAN BASHIR – AZEEM RAZVAN TR(???) With this setup can all sheep pakistan

    • Agree with Ruhail7…… wat a line-up & wat a team………
with Graham Roberts as Head Coach…

  29. FULL TIME SCORE – Bangladesh 3 – Pakistan 0

I am very sure that Jaffer Khan would have a big part in conceding 3 goals , he should not be playing in the team

  30. Pakistan football is a shame, corrupt !

  31. so pakistan coach is resigning as he has promised to the press

  32. Pakistan won’t progress as long as they keep calling foreign based players. They need to nurture their own talent.

    • Bangladesh, to their credit, actually has a proper system of a professional league, support of sponsors, and money to hire a dedicated foreign coaching staff at its disposal.

Pakistan does not have that even to this day. Foreign players are a class apart (trust me, you too would want someone like Adnan Ahmed, Atif Bashir, Zesh Rehman etc in your team!) but it all goes down to how they are used by our coaches – most of whom are ad-hoc appointees to save money who dont really know how to use them well!

They are as Pakistani as the rest of us. Problem is local mentality towards football and the way football is administered is a joke in Pakistan! Local talent can only be nurtured if professionalism and coaching is taken seriously!

      • I believe the likes of Zesh, Adnan Ahmed and co will retire now. There is no hope Pakistan will beat Bengladesh now in the second-leg, so there’s no point players such as Zesh sacraficing his club for Pakistan. This was the only major tournament that foreign players could have done something and be part of, now the next world cup is another 5-6 years and even the Asian championships are couple of years ahead , and by that time Zesh and others will be too old to play. End of an era I believe. It shows to me that forieng based Pakistani players aren’t really that advanced then local Pakistani players. The English coach Roberts must be laughing at us now!

    • pakistan need foreign coach look at south korea for exmple dutch coach etc. and you need foreigner players because we corupted we suck !!!!!!!!! the foreign playewrs will give our natural players new techniek and inspiration with a top coach from holland germany or spain perheps turkey is not bad also som turkisk strikers would be super !

  33. Pakistan need foreign players for explane Navid Ahmed from germany

  34. Looking at the rain this game was strangely played with, reminds me of this:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_P9v4LuX4I

  35. Ali, could you post more photos from the match?

  36. These Pakistani players are huge !! Shame they couldn’t muster a single shot on target. Great passing game by Bangladesh even in the torrential rain . Should have been a lot more. Need to keep our composure in Lahore. Remember the name Jahid Hasan Emily

    • Yes, but having a huge body does not mean much. Ronaldo is not big, Messi and Maradona are small. Beside, a former national coach of India who won SAFF with Indian National team once told the journalists that Bangladeshi footballers are physically the strongest in South Asia. He told that from experience of coaching top clubs in India and Bangladesh. It’s good to see Emily back in form. But the most skilled player in the Bangladesh team are Zahid Hossain(Attacking Mid) and Nasirul Islam aka Nasir(Right Back). Danish-Bangladeshi player Jamal Bhuyan was not selected for this match. If the weather is dry in Lahore, then he might be selected along with Zahid in the midfield. However, he has to replace Mishu or Momen in the XI, which would be unfair too. So it’s a sweet dilemma that the new Bangladeshi coach faces. And he must also be happy with the perfect start!

  37. here is match report .I THINK JAFFER KHAN IS TO BLAME

    Bangladesh beat Pakistan 3-0
Dhaka, June 29: Bangladesh beat Pakistan 3-0 in the first leg of the pre-World Cup qualifier against Pakistan at the Bangbandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.

In a water logged pitch due to the incessant rain Emily scored in the very 1st minute and midfielder Zahid doubled the margin in the 22nd minute.

Pakistan custodian Jaffar Khan had no clue what went wrong in the very first minute when forward Emily’s header off a Monaem Khan Raju cross slipped through his gloves after landing in the muddy pitch (1-0).

Jaffar Khan was the defaulter again in the 22nd minute when he lost the vision of a grounder of midfielder Zahid Hossain from the top of the box and the ball flew past Jaffar who did not react (2-0).

Defender Rezaul Karim sealed the fate of the match in the 56th minute as substitute forward Mithun Chowdhury paved the way with a nice chip and Reza coolly placed the ball in the far post of Jaffar.

Bangladesh fly to Pakistan on Thursday to play the second leg at Lahore on July 3rd .

Bangladesh: Biplob, Nasir(Mamun Miah), Rezaul, Arif, Mishu, Zahid (Mithun), Mamun, Shakil (Komol), Raju, Linkon, Emily.

Pakistan-Jaffar Khan, Faisal Iqbal, Manzoor, Ishaq Samar, Zeeshan, Adnan , Rasool (Kashim), Arif (Ahmed Akbar), Hasnain, Kaleemullah (Ikram

    • Did you watch the match??? Pakistan’s on field players were disoriented and blaming the goalkeeper is not fair at all. Pakistan was lucky that they escaped with 0-3. It should have been 0-6 only if Bangladeshi strikers had not wasted so many opportunities.

  38. Tahsin Chowdhury

da nw mesidonian coach of bangladesh got da result in only 2 dys .. what strategy …although typical bdeshi rain helps us a lot …. :D

  39. Go BaNgLaDeSh gO………………………………..

  40. OK to be honest… Everyone read and listen up…

Some of you are talking about corruption in the Pak team… wth are you talking about? Your really going to judge from that game?????????? Everyone who should be in the team, is in the team

DID ANYONE SEE THOSE MATCH CONDITIONS???????? It was like they were swimming!!!

You CANNOT expect to gain a proper conclusion on how the two teams play from that game!…
Okay, Bangladesh did play better, but that is to a very great extent due to the fact that they were accustomed to the pitch conditions.

I ask you again…. Did you really look at that game and think that it was a fair game? Or even a game of Soccer at all?….. It was pitiful… I play abroad in a lower division to these guys. We would’ve played in wet conditions, but not FLOODED conditions…..

The way Bangladesh were flicking everything up in the air was evident that they had obviously adapted to the game conditions…. And true, a lot of the times they were first up in the air and they also used their heads because they knew the Pakistani’s were disadvantaged in assessing how the ball was going to roll (If it actually rolled, as soon as it landed, it just stopped!!).

So to conclude, the Lahore match will be a game where the true colours of both teams will be seen. Don’t look at this first leg and assess both teams as equally prepared and advantaged, because your just blind…

Wait and see the Lahore match and decide from there…. the better team will avail.

    • Heavy_metal_sajid

So what it was raining , Pakistani guys just cant play . Bangladesh has done a great job. They are the best team in south asia . It was raining but still Bangladeshi players played well . To be honest bangladesh is better than pakistan….

  41. No doubt that the field was not good to play football but it was a common factor for the both team. In a dry pitch it could be much difficult to pakistan to play against BD team cause in that case BD team could take the full advantage of the home ground. Don’t quarrel with your bad tools. Show your talent in Lahore. Best of luck for both team.

  42. is there any link for July 3rd match?
