Faisalabad LOC promises to organise National Challenge Cup in befiting manner

The Commissioner of Faisalabad, Syed Tahir Hussain Shah, hosted a meeting of the Faisalabad Local Organising Committee (LOC) responsible for the NBP National Football Challenge Cup 2011 at 11 AM today (6 April 2011) at his office in Faisalabad.

The meeting was attended by various officials of Faisalabad District, the new DFA Faisalabad President Col (R) Ijaz ul Haq, as well as from hosts team PMC Club Athletico Faisalabad, and all of them vowed to make the National Challenge Cup – scheduled from 14-27 April 2011 – a sparkling success that firmly puts Faisalabad as one of the top venues for football in Pakistan. Syed Tahir Hussain, the Commissioner, is also the Chairman of the LOC responsible for the event.

Rana Ahmed Hassan, the Senior Superintendent Police (SSP) for Faisalabad Division, vowed to take all necessary security measures to ensure safety of teams, venues, and spectators throughout the 2 week event because of the participation of all armed forces football teams in the event.

Zubair Anwar, the Divisional Emergency Officer for Faisalabad, committed to provide necessary medical assistance for every match of the event as well as authorising a Rescue 1122 ambulance for any emergency for each game.

Syed Tahir Hussain Shah also confirmed the availability of Faisalabad’s famous Iqbal Cricket Stadium to host the knock-out stage of the tournament from 19 April till the final on 27 April. He also confirmed that arrangements for the transportation and lodging of all football officials and players visiting Faisalabad for the National Challenge Cup have been made.

PMC Athletico President and Chief Organising Secretary for the National Challenge Cup, Rai Saif ur Rehman Bhatti, highlighted and presented all the necessary arrangements completed for the event to the LOC Chairman. He also praised the participation and interest of all senior officials in order to make the event a success for the people of Faisalabad and for football.
