Punjab University beat Government College University (GCU) Faisalabad 2-0 in the final of the All-Pakistan Inter Universities Football Championship to be crowned as champions at NED University Ground, Karachi.
Coached by Sajjad Akbar, also the Real Lahore FC supremo, PU had goal scorers Rashid Masih and Usman Zafar to thank for their convincing win in the final to be crowned as the university football champions of Pakistan.
Punjab University had previously beaten Balochistan University 3-0 in semi-finals as well as 2-0 extra time win over GCU Lahore in quarter-finals. Islamia University Peshawar came 3rd in the competition.
