Baloch Youth Garden overcame Al-Shabaz Korangi on penalties in a highly tense encounter to reach the final of the 8th Karachi Football League 2010-11. The 2nd semi-final held on 21 March 2011 at the Baloch Mujahid Stadium in Ibrahim Hyderi, Karachi saw the teams remain score-less throughout normal and extra time periods. The resultig penalty shoot-out saw Baloch Youth Garden sneak past Al-Shabaz 6-5 in sudden death, after a 4-4 tie from the mandotary 5 penalties each side had to take.
The game maintained a frantic pace throughout the 90 minutes but both sides failed to score as they game entered extra time. Scores remained same in extra-time as well, leading to penalties. Muhammad Shoaib scored the winning penalty for Baloch Youth Garden, who bravely played the entire game despite being injured and was awarded man of the match award by KFL organising secretary Riaz Ahmed.
Match referee was Adnan Khan, who gave 3 yellow cards to both sides during the tense game, while assistants were Babar Khan and Farrukh Riaz with match commissioner being Saleem Arif. Muhammad Jaffar, vice-chairman of National Soccer Academy (Paposh), was chief guest for the game as he met the players before the game. Also present were KUFC head coach Arshad Jamal, Adnan Siyal, Abdul Karim, Muhammad Azhar, Dr Abdul Hameed, and Khalid Majeed.
The Final of the KFL 2010-11 will be played at the same venue on 27 March 2011 at 6 PM between Mauripur Baloch and Baloch Youth Garden, while the 3rd place game between losing semi-finalists Baloch Mujahid and Al-Shabaz Korangi will be played the same day earlier.
