District Nawabshah Football League in full swing

After 25 years, a Nawabshah District football league (Aleem Uddin Memorial District League Football Championship) returns. 7 teams from Nawabshah district will take part, including district champions Young Baloch, Al-Shahbaz Club, Shaheen Sports, King Baloch, Pak Sports, Moment FC, and Adil Sports.

Moment FC is hosting all the games at Municipal High School Ground, Nawabshah. According to Chief Organiser of the tournament, Master Riasat, after 21 games at the venue the top 4 teams will qualify for semi-finals with final to be held on 29th October 2010. The chief guest for final will be Secretary of the Sindh FA, Qamar Yar Khan. Head of the tournament’s Organising Committee is Abdul Qadeer Qureshi, while Ground In-charge is Jalil Qureshi.

District FA Nawabshah Chairman, Muhammad Yaqoob Baloch inaugurated the tournament and witnessed Pak Sports beat Al-Shahbaz by 1-0 in the opening game. He praised the contributions of the tournament’s organising committee. Head of District FA Sukkur, Syed Imdad Ali Shah was also present at the occasion alongside Rao Qamar, Qureshi brothers, Hassan Askari etc.

Hosts Moment FC beat Shaheen Sports 1-0, while Shaheen Sports beat Pak Sports 2-0. District champions Young Baloch drew 3 games. After 15 matches, Moment FC and Pak Sports are both tied on 8 points each, Shaheen Sports has 6 points, King Baloch has 5 points, Al-Shahbaz on 4, Young Baloch on 3, while Adil Sports is on 0 points after losing all of its 3 games so far.
