Quran Khawani for Benazir Bhutto at Shah Jewna

Lahore, December 31 : The Quran Khawani on the occasion of “Isal-i-Sawab” for the departed soul of slain Chairperson of PPP Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, was held on Monday, 31 December 2007 at Darbar Hazrat Shah Jewna, Jhang.

An ‘Ijtimai Dua’ was also offered on the occasion led by Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat. Hailing from a renowned spiritual and political family of Pakistan, Faisal Saleh Hayat is also Sajjada Nasheen of Darbar Hazrat Shah Jewna.

Meanwhile, talking to mediamen in Jhang, Faisal urged the sympathisers to show patience at this hour of immense grief. “Benazir Bhutto was regular visitor of Dardar at Jhang as Pakistani Prime Minister and Opposition Leader. She was seen several times at Darbar. Myself develop a 40-year relation with Bhutto family while brother of Benazir, Mir Murtaza Bhutto, was my class-fellow during educational days,” said Faisal who also led special prayers for the national solidarity, integrity and prosperity of the country.

Thousands of people from all walk of life attended the Quran Khawani and Dua and called 27th December incident a “national tragedy”. Faisal and others expressed deep sense of grief and sorrow over the sad demise of former Pakistani PM and they prayed that Allah, the Merciful may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant patience and solace to the members of the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss with equanimity.
